Educator Appraisal
Fun, Fit and High 5 has an emphasis on making PE fun, and it encourages children to participate in class. When children enjoy what they're doing, they're more likely to remain active, and it helps to develop positive attitudes towards PE and fitness. I like that there's an emphasis on building self esteem so they make the activities fun and inclusive so children are more likely to feel a sense of accomplishment and belonging. And lots of positive reinforcement through like gestures such as High 5 can help boost self esteem and motivation to continue participating in PEI. Also I like that it's adaptable for different ages and skill levels which can make it suitable for a wide range of students. However, I didn't like that it could be varied engagement level, so not all students will be motivated by the social and fitness aspects of the intervention. And then it also requires a lot of teacher creativity and energy. So the programme to be successful, teachers would need to bring a high level of energy and creativity to design engaging activities to keep the students excited, which can be demanding, especially if the student the teacher is working with large classes or has limited resources.

Fun Fit and High Fiv was developed by Vranch House, an independent day school for children with complex physical difficulties. However we could not find if it was based on research nor any research about it.
