Educator Appraisal
Stride Ahead is a study book which helps an individual who has reading difficulties struggles with comprehension. If a child's got ADHD, if a child got EAL or has dyslexia, it can help them decode and improve their reading comprehension. I like that it's it seems like a simple tool to use to help decode and reading comprehension. It's easily accessible, it improves academic performance and then doesn't require staff training. I didn't like that it is quite time consuming because it's still taking those students out of lessons for 20 minutes today. The cost of the workbook and then it relies on the specific phonics scheme and other resources to go hand in hand with it, such as stairway spelling and toe by toe.

Stride ahead builds on the underlying theory of Toe by Toe, however it does not have any reliable research showing its effective implementation.
