Educator Appraisal
Nessy can be used for all children, but is designed for pupils with dyslexia. There are loads of gamified resources for pupils and teachers to choose from, and this resource has a home and school element, meaning it can be used across settings (although there is a separate cost for the home version). The resource offers training for teachers to learn about strategies and also offers student progress tracking. This resource could be overwhelming ad requires lots of teacher preparation, so it might be best implemented if the whole school is using it and integrating it across the school setting, especially because the phonics system may be different than the one the school is already using.

Evidence Rating
There are many analyses which use small samples of students from single settings to test whether it improves literacy skills in children, including those with dyslexia or ADHD. Some studies do show that Nessy helps children to improve literacy skills, but these often have no control variable meaning no comparison can be made to usual teaching practice and it is inadequately powered to achieve a higher rating.
