Educator Appraisal
IDL is intended to identify students with dyslexia or dyscalculia early on, as well as provide learning tools to help those students. I liked that IDL offers individualised learning pace, so it allows students to work at their own pace, making it easier for them to absorb and understand the content without the pressure of keeping up with the class. It reduces teacher workload through automated progress monitoring. I didn't like that it requires training for effective implementation. So the teachers or support staff will require training to use IGL effectively to understand the platforms and tools and interpret progress reports to sort of maximise students learning. And then there's the what I didn't like was a potential for over reliance on the programme. So some teachers might overly rely on IDL as a primary learning tool, which can limit students exposure to a variety of instructional methods.
