GL assessments is a set of assessments which aim to identify potential learning difficulties such as dyslexia or dyscalculia. There are 13 different assessments available, one of which, Dyslexia Portfolio, can be used to help justify exam access arrangements. The assessments are a useful tool for collecting evidence about a child to justify accommodations.

Educator Appraisal
The GL assessments resources are a collection of resources to screen students with emerging needs to help offer them additional support. The resource is easy to access for teachers or teaching assistants, it's very detailed and user friendly. However, it is very time consuming to set up and may have limited scope for children who have complex needs or multiple difficulties. It's really useful for children going through exams and assessments as it can be used as evidence to support additional reqiurements in exams.

Evidence Rating
Due to the number of assessments offered by GL assessments we have not been able to assess all of them. However after reviewing a selection the evidence appears to be high quality and confirms the tests are both reliable and valid. Reliability in this context means that when administered multiple times by multiple different testers it will produce the same result. Validity means that a test measures what it intends to measure (e.g detecting dyspraxia).
